Nch’ḵay̓ manages businesses that create opportunities for the Squamish Nation. Without a clear website, it was hard for those businesses to be found and connect with their community.
Since 2018, Nch’ḵay̓ has managed and owned the Nation’s active businesses to create a strong and independent economic future. Nch’ḵay̓ is the Squamish word for Mount Garibaldi, known for its role in the story of the Great Flood. Squamish ancestors survived by tying their canoes to the mountain. That same resilience and foresight helps them make their impact today.
Their website didn’t reflect the full scope of their work. Outdated content and an incomplete directory made it hard for visitors to understand their impact and connect with entrepreneurs in the Squamish Nation. Without a redesign, they risked missed opportunities for growth. They needed a site that represented their work and made connecting to businesses easier.
Nch’ḵay̓ partnered with Longhouse to build a website that makes it easier to find information, with clear business profiles, a searchable directory, and a pronunciation tool to help visitors say “Nch’ḵay̓” correctly. It features a scroll-based animation that tells the Great Flood Story, bringing an important part of Squamish history online.
For on-going support, a monthly maintenance plan was set up so job postings, news, and business updates go live within 24 hours. The site helps Nch’ḵay̓ stay connected to the community, support local entrepreneurs, and make their impact in a more visible and meaningful way.
Longhouse is here to help make your impact by simplifying your to-do list;
winning your time back so you can focus on what needs you most.
