Longhouse Media is looking to add a Web Developer who wants to join our growing company.

Job Type: Contract, Part-time, Full-time
Location: Langley, BC
Compensation: $36k-$62k (Based on Experience)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and talented Web Developer / Web Designer with a strong background in WordPress and Elementor to join our team. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with other platforms such as Squarespace, Wix, and Shopify.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing new features and functionality on WordPress websites using Elementor.
  • Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture, ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
  • Collaborating with the design team to match visual design intent while maintaining user-friendly navigation and intuitive layout of content.
  • Developing and maintaining websites on platforms such as Squarespace, Wix, and Shopify as required.
  • Customizing and troubleshooting existing code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Ensuring website design is optimized for smartphones and tablets.
  • Regularly updating the website with new trends and technologies to enhance its functionality and appearance.
  • Conducting website performance tests and troubleshooting content issues.
  • Collaborating with team members and stakeholders on design, layout, and coding.
  • Communicating with clients effectively to understand their needs and deliver solutions accordingly.
  • Performing SEO-related tasks, including the addition and optimization of blog posts.
  • Staying updated on the latest developments in SEO and implementing best practices in the website development process.

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Proficient in WordPress and Elementor.
  • Familiarity with other web platforms such as Squarespace, Wix, and Shopify.
  • Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Understanding of responsive design principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles.
